Invisa Sustainable Hotels

At Invisa Hotels, we are seriously committed to environmental management. That is why we have implemented a series of measures across our hotel operations that effectively help minimise the impact we have on our natural surroundings, including waste generation and energy consumption. We are committed to promoting responsible tourism and contributing to the preservation of local culture and the local economy.

In recent years, we have moved from intentions to action: we have transformed our facilities, measured our impact and trained the people who make every stay possible. This document summarises what we have already achieved and where we are heading.

Our hotels:

Ibiza: Invisa Hotel Club Cala Verde****, Invisa Hotel Club Cala Blanca****, Invisa Hotel Es Pla - Adults Only****, Invisa Hotel Ereso***, Invisa Hotel La Cala****, Invisa Aparthotel Casa Luis**** and Aptos. Casa Luis by Invisa.

Madrid: AC Carlton Madrid****.

Barcelona: AC Som Barcelona****.

Energy: fewer fossil fuels, more clean energy

We have moved away from diesel fuel for heating water and providing climate control in our hotels. Today, we focus on energy-efficient electrification and on-site energy generation.

Heat pumps instead of diesel boilers. They provide the same level of comfort while using much less energy and eliminate the direct combustion of fossil fuels in our facilities.

Photovoltaic panels. We generate part of the electricity we consume from the sun, an abundant resource in the Balearic Islands.

Buildings with energy efficiency certificates. Our properties have energy performance ratings that serve as a benchmark for continued improvement.

Every renovation is also an opportunity to improve the energy efficiency of our buildings:

Better insulation. We incorporate thermal insulation materials that reduce heat loss in winter and keep buildings cooler in summer, thereby reducing the energy required for climate control.

More efficient equipment. When upgrading installations and machinery, we choose equipment with higher energy efficiency.

Low-energy lighting. We replace existing light fittings with more energy-efficient alternatives that provide the same quality of light.

Water: every drop counts

On an island like Ibiza, water is a scarce resource. That is why we are working on two fronts: using less water and measuring consumption more accurately.

Flow restrictors on taps and showers. They reduce water consumption without compromising guest comfort.

Consumption monitoring. We are implementing telemetry-enabled meters that allow us to monitor water consumption continuously, detect leaks earlier and make decisions based on real data.

Climate: measuring to reduce

What cannot be measured cannot be improved. That is why we have calculated our carbon footprint, which shows us where our emissions are concentrated and where we need to take action first.

Carbon footprint calculation. It provides an objective baseline for setting reduction targets and tracking progress over time.

Electric fleet. We are gradually replacing our hotels' vehicles with electric models, reducing emissions and noise in our surroundings.

Waste: generate less and manage it better

We want to make the most of every resource that enters our hotels.

Food waste prevention plan. We have developed a plan to reduce the amount of food discarded in our kitchens and buffets.

Responsible waste management. We sort the waste we generate, including hazardous waste, to ensure it is treated correctly.

Less paper. We have digitised a large part of our daily processes, reducing paper consumption at reception and in internal management.

People: sustainability is a team effort

No facility can operate without the people who use it. That is why we involve both our team members and our guests.

Staff training. Our teams receive internal and external training in environmental best practices, ensuring that sustainability becomes part of the daily work of every department.

Guest awareness. We provide our guests with signs and informational materials, encouraging them to contribute through small actions during their stay.

Green Key and next steps.

Green Key is an international sustainable tourism certification that assesses the environmental management of accommodation establishments. Four of our hotels currently hold this certification: Invisa Hotel Es Pla - Adults Only and Invisa Hotel Club Cala Verde in Ibiza, AC Carlton Madrid and AC Som Barcelona.
