The Convention Bureau holds its Annual Assembly and elects a new President

The Ibiza Convention Bureau held its Annual Assembly in May, in which around 30 partners took part, as well as political representatives such as the Island's Director of Tourism and the tourism department at Santa Eulalia Local Council.

During the meeting, they looked at the main activities that took place during 2016, where the Ibiza Convention implemented 14 direct commercial initiatives to boost the island's image as a destination for events.

 

There is no doubt that 2016 was a year that saw marked growth for the association, with the arrival of 12 new companies, strengthening this business lobby and enhancing the portfolio of available services. The Ibiza Convention Bureau now consists of 52 companies. In addition, the ICB has always received direct support from Santa Eulalia Local Council, which subsidises the costs of the ICB structure.

They also analysed the lines of work to be pursued by the Ibiza Convention Bureau in 2017, including participation in marketing activities such as specialised MICE-themed trade fairs, workshops, fam trips, sales calls and destination presentations. When it comes to markets, these activities focus primarily on priority markets such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

New Governing Board

During the Assembly, elections were held for the Governing Board of the Ibiza Convention Bureau for the coming years. Szilárd Kováts, head of operations at OD hoteles, was elected as the new President.

The Governing Board now consists of representatives of the following companies: Lady Press Agency, Atzaró, Invisa Hoteles, Sirenis, Palladium Hotel Group, Seven Pines Resort Ibiza, Ibizatours & Islandbus, Viajes Ibiza, Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza and Incentivos Ibiza.
